Description

Here's a fairly easy target to get that I mostly captured at the start of September before moving on to new targets.

I tried a number of different techniques to try and get this looking the way I wanted, however I couldn't seem to separate the brain from the sac around it in different colours as I imagine that's a bit easier to do with OSC. I did some selective sharpening of the main target, while keeping the rest of the background softer and fainter than I usually do as things were tending to look too sharpened and I didn't quite like it. I ended up using a Foraxx process and then doing a bit of minor colour messing, but a lot less than usual. Reduced RGB stars. 4h 27m 34s for WBPP to process with drizzle.

I wasn't super happy with any iteration of this, but coming back a few days later and looking at this picture I was like, ok this is actually the one, not sure why I wasn't sure before, but editing is a real forest for the trees experience and all I see are the bad parts I don't like or couldn't improve.

I think a large mosaic of this area would be really nice as the "background" cloud is quite wide, however I may save that for when I try a different, wider focal length scope one day like the FMA180 or the FMA135.
